What Readers Are Saying About Disneyland Hotel

I stayed at both the Westin and Disneyland Hotel because I love the disney bubble but the prices for the DL Hotel are bananas.

The cast members at the Disneyland Hotel are friendly, welcoming, helpful, and joyfully engaged with our children at every juncture.

I cannot imagine staying at an off property hotel. Because of the location we could easily navigate two strollers from the hotel to the parks. It also allowed us to easily leave and go back to the hotel for naps and breaks. I think this was key for keeping everyone happy.

We loved the ambiance of the Disneyland Hotel. I was impressed with how the piped-in music changed from tropical around Adventure tower and Tangaroa Terrace to the Davy Crockett theme as you approached the Frontier tower.

Dining

Goofy's Kitchen You come for two reasons: 1) It's easy and convenient, especially if you're staying at the resort, and 2) the youngsters haven't yet had their fill of dining with a rotating cast of Disney characters. Goofy and all his friends always put a smile to kids' faces. Breakfast is your best option for both food and wait times. Goofy's Kitchen has many fans, including this Alpine, Utah, grandmother. Goofy's Kitchen, even at the staggering price, was well worth it. The food was really good, a lot of the menu is designed for children, and the character visits are worth the price. What a thrill to see my grandchildren's delight at being visited by Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Snow White (with whom my 2-year-old grandson flirted brazenly!). During the meal there are scheduled parades where several characters roam around the restaurant. They will come by to wave and have other brief interactions.

The Coffee House Closes around lunch time. It usually has a shorter line than Downtown Disney's Starbucks locations.

Tangaroa Terrace This eatery has something for everyone, as long as everyone enjoys food with an Asian-Polynesian flare. Adults can enjoy a cocktail (maybe something a little exotic with a fruit garnish and little pink umbrellas) while kids frolic in the nearby pool in between bites. The adjoining Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar serves exotic cocktails and Asian-inspired appetizers in an intimate and elaborately decorated environment similar to Jungle Cruise's queue in Disneyland. Order an Uh Oa, Krakatoa Punch, or Shipwreck on the Rocks to see some explosive special effects. The best bet for late-night snacks are Sam’s panko-crusted long beans or sweet and spicy Asian wings. If the interior is at capacity (a frequent occurrence on weekends), try the patio, which has live music and a cozy fireplace.
